Vinayaka Chaturthi was celebrated in JVVP on September 12,2013 with great devotion. The school wore a festive look with the decorations made of mango and banana leaves and diyas. The idol of Lord Ganesha was also decorated with beautiful and colourful flower garlands. The day began with performing pooja to Lord Ganesha's idol with shlokas and veda mantra's. The children were assembled in the ground to attend the pooja. This was followed by several cultural programmes like - the invocation song rendered by Chenna Keshava of X.Std, the narration of stories on Lord Ganesha by LKG,UKG & I.std students also students of VI.Std chanted Shankaracharya's "Maha Ganesha Pancharatnamala" with complete dedication. "Mathadu, Mathadu Ganapa" was sung very melodiously by V.Std students.Finally, our little students of II.Std danced for the famous song "Jaya Ganesha". The programme concluded with distribution of Prasad. At the end children chorused "Ganapathi Bappa Moriya".
