Independence Day


Jnana Vijnana Vidyapeetha celebrated 68th Independence Day with patriotic fervour. Sri. Dr. Master Hiranaiah, renowned and very well known theatre personality was the Chief Guest of the function. Mrs. Laxmi Goenka, the Managing Trustee of JVVP was the special invitee of the function. The function started with the Guard of Honour, followed by flag hoisting by the Chief Guest. The Principal Mrs. Lakshmi Murthy welcomed the guests and gave a brief introduction about the Chief Guest. The highlights of the cultural program were ,National Integration songs, Yogasana Display, Human pyramid formation, speech by students, a dance highlighting the valor of Indian army and a skit in Kannada showcasing the freedom fighters from Karnataka. The Chief Guest for the occasion Sri. Dr. Master Hiranaiah expressed his concern over growing corruption and casteism in the country. He regretted that though we got freedom from the British, we are still slaves under corrupt and biased rulers who are looting our country. He said celebration of Independence Day becomes meaningful only when we stop such people from getting into power. He reiterated the need for the three key principles which should be adopted by each Indian to make India a super power, iLove for the Nation, Sense of Duty and Sense of Timei. The program concluded with sweet distribution.
